When I came over here at the end of August I was a bit apprehensive as to what to expect from my time. My mind was filled with many questions, as I guess most minds would be when encountering a situation that is totally different to its understanding. Yet my mind's fearful state of questioning was assuaged rather quickly within the first couple of weeks spent here at the church. As I became aware of the reality of Christ's love that permeates throughout everything that goes on here at Airdrie RP I realized that I was able to settle into the church family rather quickly. I knew that fears such as loneliness, homesickness, and inability to cope with change would not be an issue.

As my studies started I realized that I thoroughly enjoyed the freedom that the setup here at SIS offered me. The basic idea is that I get out of my time here as much as I want to put into it. I decided then to dive in and spur my interests in the things of God forward through the reading of Calvin's Institutes, Westminster Confession of Faith, as well as other works by respectable Christian authors. Working and living with Andrew, Dick, Robert, Beth, and Peter has been a joyful experience. It has been challenging in many ways as it should be. Overall, I have loved my studies here at the Institute and I pray that the Lord will cause the program to grow and expand bringing in more students who desire to delve deeply in seeking God.
I have also found in coming here to Scotland that it wasn't so big of a change after all. Sure, there are some cultural differences that I had to get used to (such as not saying pants in reference to my trousers). But I have been learning that wherever the people of God are, there I can dwell happily and securely in Him.
